A Scrooge Ad server is activated when you purchase a "banner space" or any prepaid impression refill for your banners. To create a banner or multiple banners (ads), you must purchase one or more banner spaces. Each banner space allows the creation of one graphic ad and one text ad.
It is possible to activate multiple banner spaces but not more than one Ad server as it is linked to your scrooge.social account. Furthermore, for activities that require specific authorizations, licenses, permits, in the applicable jurisdiction to be carried out, it is necessary to enter all the information necessary for the Scrooge Ad Team to carry out the necessary checks.
It is not mandatory to have an account on scrooge.social to activate an Ad server, in the sense that when you purchase a banner space, the system automatically directs the user to create an account on scrooge if he does not already have one linked to the email used for the purchase.
When you activate a banner space or any prepaid package for the first time, you also activate the social scrooge business subscription (in case it is not already active or you have not activated the premium subscription that includes all the features of the business subscription in addition to the additional features provided for the premium membership). By activating a Scrooge Ad server, you will add an information tab to your scrooge.social profile where you can provide any information relating to licenses, permits or certifications, if required for your business. This information will be partially visible and partially private, in the same tab you can provide documents proving any permits, licenses or certifications that are eventually required for your business (visible only to the Scrooge Ad team). If your business does not require authorizations, licenses, or permits, you may not even want to activate a scrooge.social account, although this is recommended for better management of your information. In this last case the system will still direct the advertiser to create an account on scrooge.socila during the Space banner purchase procedure.
Once you have logged in to Scrooge Ad, as an advertiser you will be able to create your banners using the purchased banner spaces (each banner space allows the creation of a graphic banner and a text banner managed by Scrooge Ad in sync to optimize not only the CTR but also the actual conversions obtained). Just click on "inventory>campaigns" in the right menu, then click on banners on the left of the campaign area. Since the Ad campaigns are self-managed by Scrooge Ad, the advertiser will be able to rely on the Scrooge Ad server algorithm and the self-management of their own campaigns determined with the support of the AI. They can also decide to use the self-service mode by communicating their data sets (Dataset) for each campaign (banner space) that Scrooge Ad will use for the configuration, thus independently defining the target, limits, daily balance, destination location(s) of the ads and other information useful for the correct management of the campaigns. The Dataset update will become operational in the following 12/24 hours.
The advertiser will still be able to intervene on the fundamental parameters of the campaigns with immediate effect, for example, by deactivating all the banners from the banner area, the campaign will be suspended instantly and therefore the consumption of impression credits. Furthermore, through "preferences>account preferences>banner preferences" it is possible to modify both the weight of the banners and of the campaign. The default value of the weights is 63, and can be increased up to 127 or reduced up to 1, thus determining a variation in the intensity of display of your banners. The two weights, if changed, can increase or reduce the probability of displaying your banners (a number greater than 63 increases the probability and therefore the consumption of prepaid impressions, a number lower than 63 reduces the probability and therefore reduces the consumption of prepaid impressions). Scrooge Ad is a self-managed advertising solution, therefore it will automatically determine the consumption of prepaid impression credit based on the available credit and to optimize CTR and real conversions, if the advertiser does not decide to use the Datasets. The daily viewing volume also depends on the congestion of the platform, however and as illustrated above, the advertiser can vary the number of daily views compared to that determined by Scrooge Ad even without using the Datasets, by varying the weights, furthermore he can both suspend the campaign by deactivating all the banners and increase the views on specific banners by deactivating the others (in the case in which the advertiser has purchased more banner spaces).
When you purchase a “banner space” you will provide some information that will help the Scrooge Ad maximize the CTR ratio (the number of impressions that produce actual clicks). For each banner space you can provide different information, for example, to advertise different products or services. Although this information can be changed, it is preferable to be careful and not change it in the future to avoid reducing the performance of your campaigns. For each banner space, optimized delivery rules are created by the Scrooge Ad. In the statistics section of the your Scrooge Ad server you can access separate statistics for each activated banner space.
Our Ad server algorithm allows you to optimize your advertising spending by dynamically managing the daily viewing volume within the preset limits of the campaign based on the information provided and/or the available monthly budget (prepaid impression credit). Dynamic management determines the speed of delivery of impressions based on the real results produced by the campaign (number of clicks and conversions), increasing the volume with the increase in clicks and conversions and reducing the volume with the reduction in clicks and conversions produced, continuously, during the campaign. It self-improves by collecting data on the campaign from the first hours of launch.
An important aspect of Ad servers are the statistics that help advertisers better understand what is happening, what results are achieved and achievable with the specific advertising service. Above all, they are the transparency of the service received. You must pay close attention to the following: in the banner editing area ("inventory>campaigns>banner"), in the comments box (you can expand the area using the arrows in the right corner, below) there is the tracker tag necessary to obtain a real measure of the results achieved with the publication of ads on scrooge. The tracker tag is in two formats, Image tag and Javascript tag. By choice of the advertiser, one of the two must be copied on the top page of the destination site of the ads, immediately after the . If the Tag tracker is not inserted in the site, the eCPC and Conversions fields will not be valued in the statistics, even if you have an overview of the clicks generated by the campaign, it will not be possible to determine the real result obtained because the Scrooge Ad algorithm, through the Tag tracker, will measure the real results obtained by eliminating the views received and classifiable as lost, for example, for clicks made by Scrooge users by mistake, or to better understand what it was about, but in fact not interested, curious, and other cases that can generate so-called lost clicks. Reposts in the statistics are updated every few hours.
Scrooge Ad statistics include the following values:
Ads (banners) must comply with the quality standards of the Scrooge social network and must comply with the technical specifications reported in the “banner spaces” (see also Banner specifications).
The time zone cannot be changed and is automatically set based on the country of residence which could also affect the offer and billing currency.
However, from your account you can set your preferred language.
You can also access your Scrooge Ad server from mobile phones (for example: iPhone, SmartFone). To get a discreet user experience, you should rotate your phone to landscape position.
The Social Scrooge protocol is under development, so we expect the Scrooge Ad service to become operational and accessible to everyone in 2025.
